Esma Doluca
Esma Doluca has been the heart of Sun Preschool's classrooms since 2012. As Head Teacher, she combines long years of hands-on experience with ongoing academic study in Child Development at Istanbul University — and the perspective of a mother who has raised two children of her own.
Every child walks through our door carrying a whole world inside them. My job is not to fill that world — it's to help it bloom.

Families who experienced her classroom years ago have returned with their younger children — and today, several little brothers and sisters of her former students are Sun students themselves. We share this not as the story of one teacher, but as the standard it represents: it is exactly this kind of lasting trust that Esma, as Head Teacher, works to build across every classroom at Sun. Her experience isn't kept behind one door — it is passed on daily, through mentoring, co-planning, and classroom guidance, to the whole teaching team.
That is the true heart of her role. As Head Teacher, Esma leads all of Sun's educators with a philosophy built on warmth, consistency, and genuine respect for how young children think. Whichever classroom your child joins, Esma's approach is woven into it — in how the day is structured, how teachers speak with children, and how every family is welcomed.
True to her belief that the early years are the most important school of all, Esma has never stopped being a student herself. She continues her academic journey in Child Development at Istanbul University, bringing the latest research on early learning directly into Sun's classrooms — a living example of the lifelong curiosity our whole team hopes to spark in every child.
Beyond the classroom, Esma is a mother of two, both now past their teenage milestones — which means every reassurance she offers a worried parent comes from lived experience. She has been on both sides of the preschool door, and it shows in the calm, knowing way she welcomes each family.
