Get to know Dr Erdem Uzunoğlu
Born in Düzce in 1969, Dr Erdem Uzunoğlu completed his primary and secondary education in Istanbul. He graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine (Çapa) in 1992. During his medical studies, he participated in an international student exchange programme at the University of Porto's Faculty of Medicine in Portugal, where he gained experience as a medical observer in the Department of Internal Medicine.
Following his graduation, Dr Uzunoğlu pursued specialist training in Paediatrics at Istanbul University's Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, completing his specialisation in 1997. After fulfilling his military service at the Istanbul War Academies, he continued his medical career as a specialist in child health and paediatrics.
With more than three decades of medical experience, Dr Uzunoğlu currently practises as a paediatrician at Acıbadem Bakırköy Hospital in Istanbul. His clinical work encompasses a wide range of children's health needs, from preventive care and developmental monitoring to childhood illnesses, nutrition, and the health and well-being of infants and adolescents.
Committed to making reliable medical information accessible to families, Dr Uzunoğlu founded Bebek Hastanesi, a child health information website, in 2009. Over the years, the website has grown into a health information platform featuring contributions from other medical specialists and writers, helping parents better understand their children's health and development.
As Sun Preschool's Medical Adviser, Dr Uzunoğlu serves as a trusted source of professional guidance for our school team whenever health-related questions arise. Whether addressing parents' concerns about medication, seeking advice on childhood illnesses, or navigating health-related situations within the school environment, our team can draw upon his extensive medical knowledge and experience.
